The River
River Fellowship exists to fulfill its calling to serve Jesus Christ by seeking the lost, discipling believers, equipping and encouraging the saints, and creating a loving family atmosphere to mutually serve each other and the needs of the community around us.
We do this by making disciples that both learn to follow Jesus and then teach others to obey everything that Jesus taught as written in the Word of God.
We believe that the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit is just as available to us today as He was in the early Church. In regards to this we believe that Acts 2:42 and 43 are interrelated.
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and in the fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, as many wonders and signs were done through the apostles"
(Acts 2:42-43)
From these verses we can see that the supernatural power & works of the Holy Spirit flow in direct proportion to the diligence of the church to perform the foundational practices listed in Acts 2:42. Therefore we stress the importance of discipleship, to study the Word of God, to always pray privately & corporately, to practice koinonia fellowship by walking in sacrificial love for one another, and observing the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lords Supper, so that the power of the Holy Spirit can flow unhindered in our lives.
Partnerships
River Fellowship partners with churches, missionaries, ministries and other Christian organizations committed to unity in the Body of Christ.
We believe the Body of Christ must be intentional about building a multicultural, interdenominational Body which seeks to bring about the unity Jesus prayed for in John 17:21 and the purposes and promises for the church contain in the Word of God.
John 17:21 Amplified Version
"that they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us,
so that the world may believe [without any doubt] that You sent Me."
